Petersen’s Ice Cream has been serving smiles since 1919, when the original Petersen Ice Cream Company first opened its doors in Chicago, Illinois. Built on a commitment to quality, tradition, and handcrafted ice cream, Petersen’s quickly became a beloved neighborhood favorite known for doing things the right way — with real ingredients and old-fashioned care.

More than 100 years later, that same legacy lives on in Arizona.

Inspired by the rich history of the original company, Petersen’s Ice Cream was brought to Gilbert, Arizona with a vision of creating more than just an ice cream shop — a place where families, friends, and the community could gather and make memories together.

What started as one location soon grew into something even bigger. With overwhelming community support and a passion for continuing the Petersen’s tradition, the brand expanded to a second Gilbert location, Scottsdale, and now Peoria.

Along the way, the journey became even more meaningful as close friends joined together as business partners and owners. Built on friendship, trust, and a shared love for the Petersen’s legacy, the team continues working together to honor the history of the brand while creating a modern experience families can enjoy for generations to come.
